I haven’t written in a long time. We didn’t really go on a big vacation this summer and I’ve been tied up in school responsibilities. I am doing well in my courses and in general everything is going well, but I just don’t have the same time or enthusiasm for other projects. I also haven’t been able to practice French or Turkish as much as I’d like, so I’m really excited that we’ll be going back to Turkey in a couple weeks.
The year so far has been a little slow, but we’ve still had some good outings. Last weekend we visited my grandparents for Thanksgiving and had an excellently delicious time out in the country. My grandmother is possibly the best cook ever. A few weeks before that Emre and I went up to the mountains, which were gorgeous this time of year, for a little hiking and visiting with folks there.

The other big event from this semester was my 5 year reunion for my Science and Math class. A whole bunch of my friends came and stayed with us and we had a fun few days.
And I got a great new haircut.

Yep, we’ve got tickets and we’ll be going to Ankara in a couple weeks. I’m really excited to see Emre’s family (especially the new baby) and to share Christmas and Korban traditions with them. I’m also looking forward to not having classes for a few weeks. I like med school, but I’m a little burned out on classes and it’s difficult to concentrate while thinking about all the fun things I could be doing.
